Enhanced Search Engine Optimization with Rankpro
Hey there! As businesses adapt and grow, so too does local SEO. Once upon a time, things were pretty straightforward. All you needed were some quality links, lots of citations, and a well-optimized site, and voila! You had a shot at popping up in the map pack. But just like everything else in the digital marketing universe, it's not so simple these days.
The recipe for local rankings now involves a bunch of ingredients, each becoming more important as time goes on. It's all about being quick on your feet, engaging effectively with customers, and providing precise, consistent messaging across various platforms. Remember when being listed on Yellow Pages was the big deal? Well, fast forward to today, and it's all about making your mark on smart assistants. Similarly, a good Yelp rating or a BBB page used to do the trick; now, it's about having keyword-rich reviews on Google Business Profile and being visible on niche directories.
To give our clients a leg up with their local SEO needs, we're excited to be partnering with Rankpro. In this post, we'll explore some crucial local SEO ranking factors that Rankpro can help address, plus a few other cool features that might just make your customer experience even better. So, let's dive in!
In 2023, local ranking factors can be broken into about seven categories.
Ever since Google's inception, links have been a crucial ranking factor. That remains true today - search engines assess the number, quality, and anchor text of links, as well as the sites you link out to.
This aspect centers on how users engage with your website. It could range from click-to-call actions and click-through rates in search results, to bounce rates, session durations, and more. If users effectively interact with your entire website, you'll likely see an improvement in your rankings.
Dealing with User-Specific Elements
There are elements that SEOs can't control. For instance, search results can vary based on the user's location (proximity), their past searches, and the device they're using.
The Importance of Citations
Citations typically refers to a webpage listing a business's Name, Address, and Phone Number. Google crawls these similarly to links to verify the accuracy of a business listing. The more listings you have on trustworthy sites with consistent information, the better.
The Power of On-Page SEO
Content is still king. Search engines aim to provide users with the most relevant and high-quality pages.
The Impact of Reviews
Review factors encompass first and third-party reviews, quantity, frequency, and diversity of reviews, as well as the usage of keywords within the reviews. It's important to engage with and respond to your reviews.
Google Business Profile (Formerly Google My Business)
Google My Business has undergone significant changes, including a name change! Fully developed Google Business Profiles with rich content and accurate information will always perform best. Think of your GBP as your digital storefront. Various elements, such as categories, keyword usage, proximity, service and product details, and images, all play a role.
What is Rankpro and Why Should You Use it?
Rankpro is a "customer experience" platform that brings together useful customer services under one umbrella, including review generation and listing management. This piece aims to provide an unbiased overview of Rankpro. You'll find a list of pros and cons and further resources if you wish to explore deeper. Rankpro is leveraging the platform for listings, so we'll place additional focus there.
Benefits of Using Rankpro
Core Listing Management Rankpro enables you to manage most of the valuable listing sites, map tools, and directories on the web, including:
- Apple Maps
- Chamber of Commerce
- Yellow Pages
What used to take a month to update and required follow-up verifications now updates almost instantly with Rankpro. If you need to update hours, change addresses, or update staff listings, this tool can save you from lagging behind on Google Maps. It also ensures that no matter where your customers are looking, they get the most current information.
Voice Assistant Integration In addition, Rankpro provides data to all major Voice Assistant tools used in the US:
- Google Assistant
- Samsung Bixby
- Microsoft Cortana
When someone asks their phone, "Find me a knee doctor," an orthopedic clinic with its data in a smart assistant is more likely to be included.
Direct Access to Healthcare Listings For healthcare businesses, listings management is increasingly difficult for anyone other than the doctors themselves. Rankpro, however, facilitates the efficient management of many popular medical sites:
Note: The healthcare listings come at an additional cost.
Ownership of Listings and Listing Cleanup Yext is currently a leading listings management provider. While their service is effective, RankPro will not work with Yext because clients don't have complete control over the listings Yext generates. Canceling the service can be tricky, and listings don't easily transfer to you when you stop using the service. They suppress bad listings and duplicates besides generating accurate ones. However, if you cancel, duplicates and inaccurate listings reappear, and you lose control of the listings accessed exclusively through Yext.
On the other hand, Rankpro offers better ownership of your listings and improved potential for transferring your listings management, should you ever want to leave the platform or part ways with RankPro. In simpler terms, the investment into Rankpro is retained at a much higher level than Yext if you cancel.
Instant Verification for New Listings The one-time cost for verifying a new Google Business Profile is less than the time it would take for your team or ours to send out a postcard for verification. When you consider the fact that you're saving potentially months of postcard attempts, this feature is an extreme time saver. Avoiding this downtime can translate into hundreds of additional leads generated annually.
EHR and CRM Integrations Rankpro can integrate with different tools to centralize customer experience management. Currently, over 1,000 systems can be connected. New integrations should be possible through our enterprise relationship with the platform. Plus, Rankpro is HIPAA compliant.
Listings Management is Just One of Many Tools While the listings management system will enhance listings in search, the platform also offers many other potential enhancements for a practice focused on value-based care:
- Can aggregate reviews from 150+ review sites
- Provide direct communication with customers via text, messaging tools, and responding to reviews, as well as a website chat tool
- Effective review generation
- Referral generation tool to increase word-of-mouth
- Survey generation
- Individual listing pages that can rank in Google – the pair from both Google and other websites
- Provide data-based insights based on your reviews and competitors, and even create tickets to address any issues – it can create tickets from mentions on social networks as well!
Note: These features come with additional costs. However, they can help get more positive patient-based information out to the public, improve the patient experience between visits, and mitigate any issues that might be happening unbeknownst to the administration.
We’ve Seen Real Results Rankpro is currently being used by several different businesses in our most popular industries. In many of these cases, we've noticed businesses leveraging Rankpro have up to 4x the number of reviews and tend to be more consistently visible within Google Maps.
Can Rankpro take you from not ranking to the top 3 results in Maps on its own? No. You'll still need a technically sound website with great backlinks, great content, and a great experience. However, Birdeye provides excellent solutions for review generation, listings management, and customer experience. These are significant pieces of the puzzle. When you combine Rankpro's efforts with a holistic local SEO strategy, results can happen fast. Since adding listing management, we've seen non-branded clicks improve as much as double in under two months with limited changes implemented elsewhere during this time.
Customer Service is a Strength Rankpro often ranks as the top-rated platform of its kind when you look at technology review sites. A consistent positive has been their customer service. Since we started working with them, they've been solutions-oriented and transparent. Custom solutions are not out of the question.
The Downsides of Rankpro
Monthly Cost A single citation update – i.e., through a building service – may cost more upfront but less in the long run. You pay for the updates, and you're done. If you don't need to update listings more than once every few years, you might end up spending money in a less cost-effective way. Adding to that, the healthcare provider cost is three times the base listing cost, which can quickly escalate the total cost.
Yext's More Robust Listings Management Yext started as a listings management platform. They have more direct access to data aggregators and more listings under their control. Their APIs and connectivity have been developing for a longer period. Their listing management and optimization software is still superior to Rankpro, while Rankpro outperforms in other aspects of the product offerings.
However, it's worth noting that Yext will likely be 130-150% of the cost per listing, annually. Large-scale enterprise clients would likely stick with Yext for listing management as the lone service.
Software Still Improving Rankpro has many users praising it for ease of use and ease of setup. However, the complaints people tend to have usually stem from missing a feature here or there. Some users have described the software as clunky at times. In our experience, this has been our biggest issue. There have been too many instances where we needed to log out or navigate to a different page to see any changes reflected on our dashboard.
Rankpro Doesn't Guarantee Success While Rankpro will undoubtedly improve performance in local SEO, it won't solve the issue of a competitor being closer to the searcher than your physical location. Proximity is arguably Google's number one factor in local search currently.
Also, listings are less valuable than they used to be. In 2015, the business with the most and most accurate listings probably ranked number one in Google Maps. Now, your website, reviews, who is linking to you, and other factors matter as much or even more.
Maximize the Benefits of Using Rankpro powered by Birdeye
As with many situations of using new technology solutions to help manage or augment your digital marketing efforts, Birdeye is a tool that, when used correctly, can provide effective results. However, it shouldn't be seen as a set-it-and-forget-it solution. Birdeye requires constant updates, maintenance, and strategic implementation. It also represents a significant financial investment that can add several thousand in overhead for businesses with several listings.
Fortunately, for those reading this, Rankpro provides all the other services where Birdeye falls short. Rankpro covers website optimization, social media management, and ongoing content management with no monthly contracts. Rankpro combines the best of Birdeye, leveraging their most powerful solutions and support to ensure that you maximize your efforts. RankPro also offers al-a-carte pricing and exclusive rates which can be canceled anytime to mitigate the risk of yearly agreements.
